FPH gets a building!

We have such amazing news to share with all of you! Since its inception, the Franklin Prayer House has felt a connection and calling to downtown Franklin. Within the last 2 months, the Lord has opened the door for us to lease a space downtown for our prayer room! We are in awe of Jesus and have so much to share with you. Please watch this video for a brief overview of the space:

ABOUT THE SPACE

Our new home is almost 2,400 square feet with a main prayer room, separate meeting space, a small kitchen and even a potential kids room. There is a separate entrance and plenty of off-street and lot parking.(!!!) It’s coming to us pretty much as a blank canvas, and we have been given freedom to customize the space and make it work for us. This will require a bit of renovation and creativity, but we are excited to make it our own.

WHY NOW?

Our heart has been to have a neutral/central space where we can be a resource for all local churches in the area and keep the fires of worship and prayer burning in the heart of the city. We love the history of E.M. Bounds and the prayer movement that dates back to the 1800s, and we feel there is such significance in returning to the downtown area where the prayer revival began.

For the past 3 1/2 years, The Gate Community Church has graciously allowed us to use their lobby as our prayer room, and we cannot say thank you enough! Having our own space downtown will now give us the opportunity to expand our hours and offer even more to the community and to the local churches in Franklin.

HERE ARE SOME DETAILS:

  • Address: 236 2nd Ave. South, Franklin, TN (through the side entrance)
  • The space is approx 2,360 sq ft
  • The lease term is for one year, which is quite rare, especially for downtown Franklin. The landlord has already offered us the option to renew for a second year at the same rate.
  • Rent is $5,600 per month and includes utilities.
  • We have currently raised $31,000 of the $67,200 we need to cover our entire year’s rent.
  • We are estimating an additional $5-$10k for remodel costs and equipment/furnishings for the space

Here’s where you come in!

We are asking you to consider partnering with the Franklin Prayer House in any amount as a one time donation or as a monthly pledge, so that we can enter into our new home and create a pace for more people to find new rhythms in the presence of Jesus. Franklin Prayer House has never been an organization that has had monthly recurring costs. No leaders receive money from Franklin Prayer House, and that will remain the same. Having a space of our own offers up so many opportunities and possibilities, and we are excited about what God is doing and what He will continue to do!

And of course we would greatly appreciate your prayers over us and this facility as we enter into this new season and continue to pursue what God has on his heart for the city of Franklin.
